The Reed Switch, also known as Reed Contact or Magnetic Contact, is the ideal component for non-touch switching.
It is most economic switching component, handling loads from signal load up to 250 W in a wide range of applications.
Micro Reed Switches are particularly small and are mainly used in the fields of medical technology and small-scale applications.
Standard Reed Switches have a glass body length of about 10 mm to 20 mm. They reach an extremely long lifetime (lots of switching cycles) and high reliability at a reasonable price. Therefore they are used in applications with very high quantities, e.g. in the household appliances or automotive industry.
With Power Reed Switches, high loads can be switched directly, even with critical loads up to 250 watts and 5 amperes. They are available as Normally Open contacts (Form A) and Changeover Contacts (Form C) and are mainly used for industrial applications.
By Special Reed Switches we mean unusual Reed Switches, for example, ones with a very high breakdown voltage or bistable (also called "Latching" or "Form E") Reed Switches. These are pre-adjusted or pre-tensioned using an attached magnet. They keep their switching status even after the corresponding magnet or magnetic field is removed.
SMD Reed Switches are the cost-effective solution for automated PCB assembly, available in tape & reel packaging. Choose from over 20 models and three contact forms!
Of course, we also offer our SMD reed switches already assembled on individually printed circuit boards - according to your specifications. Our Reed Chains enable individual level sensing solutions.
The S-Series SMD Reed Switches are our most cost-effective Reed Switches for automatic assembly. They are designed for assembly in a PCB cut-out and thus reduce the overall height by almost 50%.
The T-Series SMD Reed Switches are an inexpensive alternative to over-moulded Reed Switches. The design with welded-on cylinders ensures the best stability of the Reed Contact on the PCB and thus high process reliability during automatic assembly. Usually, no re-design of an already existing PCB is necessary!
The F-Series SMD Reed Switches are so-called gullwing types and directly replace various competitors switches without the need of changing the circuit board.
The Z-Series SMD Reed Switches are designed to be "inserted" into a circuit board cut-out. This results in a particularly low overall height above the PCB, in the case of the PMC-0701Z only 0.45 mm. Inserting the reed switch into the circuit board cut-out provides improved mechanical protection for the glass body.
The TH-Series SMD Reed Switches are housed for improved mechanical protection. Like the T-Series, they are mounted on stable cylinders to ensure the highest possible process reliability in automatic assembly. They are available in four different pitch sizes from 8.9 mm to 18.2 mm, but of course, we also develop customized versions.
The FH-Series SMD Reed Switches are so-called gullwing types in a housing, which results in improved mechanical protection. Normally no PCB redesign is necessary for these products. They are suitable for automatic assembly and are the ideal economical alternative to Hall ICs.
Reed Chains allow simple and effective continuous measuring of liquid levels.
Reed Switches and resistors are mounted onto a PCB. This PCB, now called Reed Chain, is inserted into a long stem and a matching Float is moving up and down the stem, according to the liquid level. With the Magnet inside the float switching the Reed Switches on and off the total resistance changes. This change in resistance gives easy, seamless and continuous level information.
A Reed Sensor contains a Reed Switch which is firmly encapsulated in a metal or plastic housing; for better mechanical protection and easier assembly. Numerous housing variants are available, individual housings according to customer requirements are possible. Matching housed actuating magnets are also available!
Our Flatpack Reed Sensors are easily assembled in the end product through screws. All our sensors are delivered with 300 mm or 500 mm cable length as a standard - simple configure your specific solution here. Suitable magnets for each sensor are also available.
THT Reed sensors are Reed Switches in a housing, ready for THT PCB assembly. Available in pitch length from 10.16 to 20.32 mm and as Normally Closed, Change Over and bistable versions.
Tubular Reed Sensors allow the smallest design of a sensor. In most cases, these sensors are clipped or glued into a holder. Of course, mains voltage variants, normally closed and changeover contacts are also available and designs can be realised completely according to customer specifications.
By using housing with external thread, these sensors can be precisely positioned and adjusted within the application. Materials from PA to nickel-plated brass offer both inexpensive and lightweight as well as very stable and robust sensor solutions. As standard, we offer thread sizes from M5 to M12 to cover a wide range of applications.
Press-fit Reed Sensors are pressed in through a predefined opening and clamp themselves in the end position. Frontal actuation enables seamless integration between Reed Sensor, Magnet and frame or surface - almost invisible!
Snap-fit Reed Sensors are mounted in the housing of the application via a snap-in lug and a corresponding holder. This eliminates the need for a tool and simplifies future installation, removal or replacement.
In rare cases, certain applications require higher switching frequencies and therefore longer lifetimes than normal Reed Sensor or Reed Switch solutions can cover. For this reason, we have developed a series of Hall Sensors in cooperation with a well-known Hall chip manufacturer.
Of course, like all PIC sensor solutions, they can be modified to meet your specific requirements regarding housing, cabling, connection and more.
Our Flatpack Hall Sensors can be easily assembled in the end product by using screws. The ideal actuation point is marked on the housing and the placement of the Hall element in the housing can be individually configured!
By using housing with external thread, these sensors can be finely positioned and adjusted in the application. Nickel-plated brass as housing material and diameters of M10 and M12 are particularly suitable for demanding environments that require a robust and durable sensor solution.
Flange-mounted Hall Sensors are assembled safely and quickly by using two screws. Due to the ultra-flat housing with an overall height of only 3 mm, they are particularly suitable where minimum switching distances or limited space is required.
PIC TMR Sensors are characterised by ultra-low power consumption combined with maximum magnetic sensitivity. This makes even large switching distances or the use of miniature magnets possible. Our TMR sensors are available as bipolar and omnipolar versions in three different housing shapes.
Individual housing shapes or other modifications are possible on request as usual.

Level Sensors are also known as "Float Switches". We use this term to describe Reed Sensors for level monitoring where the magnet (in a float) is installed together with the Sensor to form one unit. These are available as normally open (Form A) and normally closed (Form B) depending on the version. Customer-specific dimensions and several switching points can also be realised.
Our PLS-PP Level Sensors are available as a standard with 20 mm, 31 mm, 41 mm, and 51 mm stem length - individual variants with different dimensions or more than one switching point are produced specifically according to your needs! These Level Sensors comply with FDA and NSF regulations and are suitable for food contact.
PPH-Level Sensors are installed horizontally. Their special design allows assembly from outside, in a closed tank. The special seal safely seals the required drill hole.
